The Russian Embassy in Mexico City has thanked Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for his criticism of Germany’s shipment of German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine «We thank Lopez Obrador for his open and clear position on the supply of German tanks to the territory of Ukraine,» the Russian diplomatic legation said in a post on its official Twitter profile.
The Russian Embassy has thus echoed the words of the Mexican president, who on Wednesday assured that «media pressure» had made Berlin change its mind and finally give the «green light» to the supply of the Leopards.
«We hope that no one has any doubts that there is currently a direct clash between the free West and Russia. You know what is going to happen with these tanks,» the Russian Embassy in Mexico City has pointed out.
In a separate message, the diplomatic delegation has adhered to Lopez Obrador’s statements and noted that European countries have finally decided to send Leopard to Ukraine «under another pressure (exerted) from outside.»
Berlin on Wednesday gave the ‘green light’ to the shipment of Leopard tanks to Ukraine by third countries with such battle tanks in possession. The United States, for its part, also confirmed the supply of some thirty Abrams tanks.
