The head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said Friday that Poland will send to Kiev 60 PT-91 battle tanks in addition to the fourteen Leopards already promised by Warsaw, as part of the international support to the Ukrainian authorities in the face of the Russian invasion.
«Poland will send 60 PT-91 Twardy tanks to Ukraine, alongside the fourteen Leopard 2 previously announced. Thanks to our allies. Let’s crush the enemy,» Yermak said in a message on Telegram.
Yermak himself has noted on his account on the social network Twitter that «today the world honors the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.» «Their tragedy should have served as a warning to prevent new crimes against humanity, but today, in the center of Europe, a genocide of Ukrainians is taking place. We will never forgive or forget anything,» he reiterated.
Poland’s Deputy Defense Minister, Wojciech Skurkiewicz, estimated on Thursday that «within a few weeks» fourteen Leopard 2 tanks will be ready to be shipped, following Germany’s approval, which puts an end to weeks of speculation about the delivery of this type of armored vehicles coveted by Ukraine.
