Russia’s Defense Ministry on Saturday denounced a «deliberate» attack by the Ukrainian Army on a medical center in the Moscow-controlled area of eastern Lugansk region that has left at least 14 dead and 34 wounded.

According to the Ministry, the Ukrainian attack was carried out this Saturday at around 7:30 local time with a multiple launch rocket launching platform (HIMARS) against a hospital in the town of Novoaidar.

The attack has left «at least 14 dead and 24 wounded of varying severity among hospital patients and medical staff», according to the note, in which the Ministry reiterates that the position and activity of the hospital were known and detailed as a civilian infrastructure.

The Ministry of Defense has qualified this attack as «a serious war crime of the Kiev regime and has assured that «all those involved in the planning and commission of this crime will have to assume their responsibility».

Then, Russia’s deputy representative to the United Nations, Dimitri Polianski, denounced on his Twitter account the United States for participating in the attack through the delivery to the Ukrainian Army of these multiple missile systems.

«HIMARS are subject to an agreement with Washington and this results in the U.S. being directly involved in the attack,» according to Polianski. «American taxpayers need to know where their money is being spent,» he reiterated.

Meanwhile, the president of the self-proclaimed Lungask People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, denounced the West’s «tacit approval» of this type of attack, which «will undoubtedly have serious consequences for the world community as a whole».

«Medical facilities are under special protection in the Geneva Conventions», Pasechnik reminded (…), but what standards can we talk about when simple concepts such as humanity and morality are alien to these nationalists», he pointed out.

The Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on this accusation.
