
Slovenian security forces have detained two foreign nationals, whose nationality has not been disclosed, for allegedly carrying out acts of espionage on behalf of Russia, Slovenian daily ‘Delo’ reported Monday.
According to these reports, the operation has been carried out in the capital, Ljubljana, by the Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency (Sova), which has arrested the two suspects for allegedly spying and spreading false information.
Sources quoted by the newspaper have indicated that one of the detainees has citizenship of a Latin American country, with no further details at this stage. Russian authorities have not commented on the arrests. Those arrested have been brought before a court.
