Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin traveled to the United States on Monday to meet with senior government officials and demand that «Russian crimes» committed during the invasion be prosecuted.
In an interview granted to Fox News, he indicated that «Ukraine will not allow impunity for corruption crimes» and said he felt «infinitely grateful to the partners for their support». «We have to ensure that all aid reaches those who need it,» Kostin said.
Thus, he stressed the importance of the work of the Ukrainian authorities and security forces, which «have not stopped working for a single day despite the challenges», as he indicated in his Telegram account.
Kostin plans to meet with several senior U.S. officials to «ensure that international crimes are prosecuted and an International Tribunal is set up to try Russian leaders, as well as a compensation mechanism for the victims of aggression.»
The prosecutor had warned on previous occasions that crimes of corruption committed during the war «amount to crimes of plunder».
