The defense ministers of Ukraine and France, Oleksei Reznikov and Sébastien Lecornu, respectively, signed an agreement on Wednesday for the supply of GM-200 anti-aircraft radars by Paris.
This was confirmed by Reznikov himself on his official profile on the social network Twitter, where he stressed that the GM-200 will help detect the drones and missiles with which Russia has been attacking Ukraine for more than eleven months.
«Our sky will be protected from Russia’s deadly attacks», remarked Minister Reznikov, who also informed that in principle France will supply two of these radars.
Reznikov also held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, whom he thanked for the arms support, especially after the supply of AMX-10 light tanks.
The Ukrainian Defense Minister thanked the step taken by Paris, as he considers that it has positively influenced other countries – referring to Germany – to give the «green light» to the supply of armored vehicles, thus forming the so-called «tank coalition».
«A very frank and productive conversation on the operational needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for self-defense against the Russian aggressor,» Reznikov noted, referring to his meeting with Macron.
«France is with us, thanks to president and the French people for their leadership and unwavering support,» Minister Reznikov concluded on his social networks.
