The Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed Tuesday to have killed more than a thousand Russian servicemen in fighting over the past day, although Moscow has not yet commented on the number of casualties.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has said on its account on the social network Facebook that 1,030 Russian soldiers died during the last 24 hours and has raised to more than 133,000 the total of military «liquidated» since the beginning of the invasion.
He also pointed out that 3,245 tanks, 2,232 artillery systems, 227 anti-aircraft defense systems, 294 airplanes, 284 helicopters and 1,958 drones have been destroyed since the beginning of the hostilities.
On the other hand, he stressed that 796 cruise missiles fired by Russian forces, 18 ships, 5,107 vehicles and fuel tanks and 208 pieces of «special equipment» have also been destroyed. «The data are being updated,» he concluded.
Russia has not provided data on casualties in the conflict since September, when Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed the deaths of 5,937 servicemen. The Russian news portal Mediazona puts the total death toll at 12,538, figures it considers «corroborated» by publicly available data.
