Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said Wednesday that Moscow will make sure that «never in the future» there can be threats coming from Ukraine.
«We will make sure that never in the future there will be a threat to Russia or its allies, or to Russian culture or the Russian language, from the territory of Ukraine,» the Russian diplomatic representative to the UN said.
During his speech at the UN Security Council, Nebenzia also added that another of Moscow’s main objectives is to stop «glorification of (Adolf) Hitler’s accomplices».
At this point, although without mentioning him directly, Nebenzia alluded to Stepan Bandera, leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and collaborator with the Nazi German regime during World War II against Soviet Russia.
«There will never again be glorification of Hitler’s accomplices who killed hundreds of thousands of Jews, Poles and Ukrainians,» remarked Nebenzia, who set these requirements as «the basis» for future agreements.
