In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean People’s Army, Pyongyang has held a military parade showcasing intercontinental ballistic missiles and tactical nuclear operations units.
At the parade, held at Kim Il Sung Square in the North Korean capital, «a column of tactical missiles and a column of long-range cruise missiles entered the square,» North Korea’s KCNA news agency KCNA has reported.
«The advance of the columns of the Tactical Nuclear Operations Unit, showing its powerful war deterrence and counterattack capability, was full of dignity and charged with fearless momentum,» read the statement released by the said agency.
The North Korean leader, who was present at the parade, said in a speech that the North Korean People’s Army «is strong in ideology and faith» and is «capable of defeating any formidable enemy with one blow,» referring to its weaponry.
However, North Korean media have not mentioned the exact model of the intercontinental ballistic missiles nor confirmed whether a new weapon has appeared that had not been revealed so far, Yonhap reported.
