The Russian authorities have claimed Thursday to have shot down ten drones launched by «Ukrainian nationalists» against the Bryansk region, located near the common border, incidents that have been caused without casualties or material damage.
«Tonight, Ukrainian nationalists attacked the territory of the Starodubsky district with drones. The air defense system of the Russian Armed Forces repelled the attack,» Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said via his Telegram account.
Thus, he has underlined that «as a result of the operations of the air defense system the nine offensive devices have been shot down», although shortly after he has emphasized that a tenth device has been repelled in the area. «Thanks to our defenders,» he concluded.
Bryansk, as well as other Russian regions located near the border with Ukraine, have been the scene of several attacks in recent months, in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, unleashed on February 24, 2022 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
