Pro-Russian authorities in the Donetsk region have denounced on Monday that an assassination attempt has been registered against the head of the police in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, which is under Russian control as part of the invasion of Ukraine.
Sources close to the matter have warned that the vehicle of the head of the local police department, Mikhail Moskvin, has exploded after the placement of an explosive device that was aimed at the officer himself.
»During Monday morning, Moskvin’s car has exploded. He is alive, everything is in order,» said sources close to the matter, who clarified that Moskvin was a few meters away from the vehicle when the deflagration occurred, according to the TASS news agency.
However, they have clarified that he has suffered a slight contusion due to the shock wave of the explosion, which is already being investigated by the authorities in the area, as confirmed by the mayor of Mariupol, Oleg Morgun.
