Joint Army Base Andrews in the U.S. state of Maryland was cordoned off Thursday due to the presence of an armed suspect in the vicinity of the camp.
The military base itself has confirmed the news on its official Facebook profile, where they have urged the population to stay away from the area.
According to military authorities, the suspect is a white man wearing a purple sweatshirt and black pants and carrying an AR-15 model assault rifle »without orange tip», a distinctive feature of toy guns to differentiate them from the real ones.
The military base in Maryland has appealed to the public to contact emergency services in case of witnessing strange movements in the area. Law enforcement mobile and foot patrols are searching for the suspect,» they added.
