The spokesman of the Ukrainian Presidency, Mikhail Podoliak, has attributed the death of Russian journalist Vladlen Tatarski in an attack perpetrated this Sunday in a cafeteria in St. Petersburg to internal disputes.
»It has already started in Russia…. The spiders are devouring each other inside the jar. It was a matter of time before domestic terrorism became an instroment of the internal political struggle, like bursting a ripe grain,» Podoliak said on Twitter.
For the Ukrainian spokesman it is »an irreversible process» in which there will be »Troubles 2.0» in Russia. »In the meantime, we will continue to watch,» he reiterated.
Tatarski was one of the journalists most critical of the Russian military leadership for the failures on the battlefield to the point that he called for the trial of the top military officials, »untrained idiots,» he said.
Tatarski regularly traveled embedded with Russian forces in Ukraine and was one of the protagonists of the official ceremony in which the annexation of the Russian-controlled regions of eastern Ukraine was made official in September.
»We will conquer them all. We will kill them all. We will plunder what we need and everything will be as we want it to be,» Tatarsky said in a video message recorded and released at the ceremony held in the Kremlin.
Tatarski is among the bloggers with contacts in the Russian forces who regularly criticize military commanders, although rarely the target is Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin himself has recognized the importance of these propagandists to such an extent that the Kremlin has created a body to coordinate the government with these content creators.
Tatarski would also be the second pro-war personality to be assassinated on Russian territory after the daughter of the ultra-nationalist ideologue Alexander Duguin, Daria Dugina, was killed in a bomb attack in August.
