The website of the Parliament of Finland suffered a cyber-attack on Tuesday, the same day that the Nordic country will become the 31st member state of NATO, according to the institution itself.
The hackers have perpetrated a denial of service attack, also known by its acronym in English, DDoS, consisting of saturating the servers until the website in question is inaccessible. The Parliament has confirmed that it has taken measures to limit its scope.
Although the authorities have not made any official statement, the Russian hacker group Noname 057(16) has claimed responsibility for the attack, linking it directly to Finland’s accession to the Atlantic Alliance, reports the Finnish television channel Yle.
