Former President Donald Trump has reproached the Democratic Party on Saturday for already starring in attempts to interfere in the presidential elections scheduled for November 2024 to the point of accusing them of cheating.
»The Democrats are working hard in various ways to cheat, including interfering in the elections through the illegal use of prosecutors on a scale never seen before. Let’s not underestimate their ability to cheat!!!», Trump posted in a message on his social network, Truth Social.
Trump has thus referred to the process in which he is accused of 34 felony charges of falsifying business records in the context of the alleged bribery of porn actress Stormy Daniels, to whom he would have paid $ 130,000 (more than 120,000 euros).
Trump, who has said he is the victim of a »political persecution», has also been accused, in another process opened against him, by journalist Elisabeth Jean Carroll, of having raped her inside the fitting rooms of a lingerie store in New York in the 90s.
In addition, Trump has highlighted this Saturday the »spectacular» annul conference of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in which he participated on Friday in Indianapolis, where he promised that he will be the »loyal and fearless champion» that will defend the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which enshrines the possession of firearms, if he wins the elections of 2024.
»I’m proud to have been the most pro-gun, most pro-Second Amendment president you’ve ever had in the White House and if you support me in 2024 I will be your loyal friend and fearless champion again as the 47th president of the United States,» Trump said.
Trump is in Indianapolis to participate in the Annual Convention of the National Rifle Association (NRA, for its acronym in English), where his former vice president, Mike Pence, who is considering running for the Republican Party primary and contest the nomination to the New York millionaire, with whom he is now openly at odds.
Pence warned from the rostrum that »we must resist the temptation to put what is popular ahead of what is smart and resist the politics of personalism and the lure of populism so far removed traditionally from timeless conservative values.»
For the moment in the race for the Democratic nomination the only one who could overshadow Trump in the polls is the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis. In the last few hours one of the possible contenders, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, has officially confirmed that he will not run, citing personal reasons.
