US law enforcement officials arrested two teenagers Wednesday in connection with a weekend shooting in the southeastern state of Alabama that killed four people and injured 32 others.
The authorities have indicated that the detainees are a 16-year-old identified as Travis MCcullough, and another 17-year-old, Ty Reik McCullough. Both are in custody and have been charged with murder, as reported by Sergeant Jeremy Burkett in statements to NBC News.
The Prosecutor’s Office, which has given more details about the arrest, has not given more information about the relationship or possible kinship of the suspects, both from the city of Tuskegee.
The shooting occurred around 22.30 (local time) Saturday night at a dance studio on Bradnax Street, where a group of friends and family were celebrating the birthday of a 16-year-old girl. Among the fatalities was a brother of the minor.
According to several witnesses, the attack began an hour after someone showed up with a gun at the celebration, where he was initially prevented from entering.
