MADRID, 4 (EUROPA PRESS Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Thursday the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin during the May 9 military parade in Moscow, which commemorates the triumph of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany, amid doubts about his attendance after the assassination attempt.
The president will speak, as is usually the case,» Peskov said, when asked at a press conference whether changes were expected in the program of the celebrations, Interfax news agency reported.
However, Peskov noted that following this alleged assassination attempt, the Kremlin will implement additional security measures. »Everything will be reinforced in a context in which everything has already been reinforced,» he said.
This Wednesday, Russia denounced that Ukraine would be behind the attempt to assassinate Putin, after a drone was intercepted flying over the Kremlin. Kiev has denied any responsibility, while its Western partners believe it could be a ‘false flag’ maneuver by Moscow.
