Ukrainian authorities on Monday raised to twelve the number of localities «liberated» from the hands of Russian troops in the Lugansk region (east), one of those annexed in September by Moscow, a decision condemned by the international community.
The head of the Lugansk Regional Administration, Serhiy Haidai, has indicated that Russian forces are firing on areas recaptured by Ukrainian troops. «We are trying to carry out evacuations,» he said.
Thus, he has specified that the locality of Bilogorivka is one of the most targeted by the Russian Army. «Our artillery teams have long-range weapons that allow them to solve issues behind the enemy’s lines,» he explained.
«This makes the situation on the frontline much easier,» said Haidai, who noted that among the Russian troops deployed in the area there are members of the Wagner Group and recently mobilized Russians, Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported.
