A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Saturday in Cambridge, UK just after 14.00 hours (local time) in an attack that local police suspect was intentionally targeted at the teenager.
On arrival at the scene, the emergency services called the police at 14.52 hours and just a few minutes later his death was confirmed, so an investigation has been launched to clarify what happened, according to ‘The Guardian’.
In statements collected by the same source, a police official said that they are following «several clues» although the attack seems «directed towards him». In addition, he stated that although the cause of death cannot be determined until a forensic examination of the body has been carried out, he had received several stab wounds.
He also appealed to any witnesses to the incident to contact the police, as several people had spoken to the paramedics and had left the scene upon the arrival of the police.
«I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us as a matter of urgency,» he maintained, for which a telephone number has been set up.
