The tweeter, who wrote under a pseudonym, uttered threats when showing his displeasure against the abolition of the basic income. Security forces have searched his home and seized computer material, according to the official note.

Meloni’s party, Brothers of Italy, has expressed on social networks its support for the prime minister, who has also received messages of solidarity from opposition political leaders such as the leader of the 5 Star Movement, Giuseppe Conte, who has considered the threats «execrable, without buts».
