At least three Nigerian military personnel were killed Monday after a transport helicopter crashed near Driori Hamami International Airport in the capital, Niamey.
According to information gathered by the Nigerian news portal ActuNiger, the incident took place during the landing of the Mi17, which caught fire after touching down.
The fire was brought under control and did not cause any casualties other than the three occupants of the damaged helicopter. The African country’s authorities have not yet commented on the causes of the incident.
