On the other hand, at least three policemen were injured -they remain stable- in New York City after being attacked at about 10.00 a.m. (local time) on Saturday by a man with a machete near Times Square, according to the network.
The suspect, a 19-year-old man, approached a police officer and attempted to hit him in the head with a machete, after which he struck the other two police officers before one of the officers fired his service weapon.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the NYPD and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating the incident. «I want to be very clear. There is no ongoing threat,» FBI Deputy Director Mike Driscoll told a press conference, suggesting that this was an isolated incident.
