The president of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo Nazário de Lima, has condemned the racist insults that Real Madrid striker Vinícius received on December 30 during the LaLiga Santander match between the Puebla and Madrid sides, and has assured that the club will «collaborate in the investigation» to locate the individuals who shouted the insults.
«Regrettable, disgusting, shameful, inadmissible. Racists and xenophobes do not represent us. Vinícius, all my support, respect and affection,» the 46-year-old ex-footballer said on his official Twitter account.
He also assured that they will try to locate the culprits of such acts. «Real Valladolid is at the disposal of the authorities to collaborate in the investigation so that those responsible are removed from the club. We will not allow racist insults in our entity because our fans are not like that and those people do not represent us,» he said.
On Tuesday, LaLiga filed complaints with the judicial, administrative and sporting bodies for the racist insults made against Vinícius in last Friday’s match (0-2) at the Nuevo Zorrilla. The employers’ association filed a criminal complaint for hate crimes with the Valladolid Magistrates’ Courts, accompanied by audiovisual evidence gathered in the investigation that has been carried out through images and sounds published in open sources.
Subsequently, the Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) opened «extraordinary disciplinary proceedings» against Real Valladolid for the events that took place.
