A Lebanese bank customer was arrested Tuesday after opening fire at a bank branch in the Lebanese city of Sidon, which lies south of the capital Beirut.
Police, who arrested the alleged attacker, said that the incident occurred after an argument between the customer and bank employees, according to information from the newspaper ‘L’Orient le Jour’. It has also confirmed that no years have been recorded.
The man is an ex-military man who would have returned to his vehicle to get the gun after being denied banking services by the branch workers. Subsequently, he shot at one of the glass doors.
The Lebanese Banks Association held an emergency meeting earlier Tuesday to weigh the possibility of closing branches across the country for the next three days due to the increase in such incidents.
