Three people killed, 32 injured in Cairo hospital fire

At least three people have been killed and 32 others injured after a fire broke out at an NGO-affiliated hospital in Cairo, Egypt.

Ministry of Health and Population spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that of the total number of victims, 28 have been transferred to different hospitals in the area for medical treatment.

The fire, which started in the radiology area of the hospital, has caused burns, fractures and asphyxiation to the injured who are being treated by emergency services, Al Arabiya reported.

On the other hand, the governor of Cairo, Khaled Abdel Aal, has stressed «the speed of eliminating the effects of the fire after the completion of the investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office and forensic experts».
