
The Danish Royal House reported Wednesday that Queen Margrethe II will undergo back surgery at the end of February to try to put an end to the ailments she suffers in the area.
According to the statement released by the Royal House, Margarita, 82, has been suffering from back problems for years and for some time now they have been aggravated.
The surgery is scheduled for February 22 at the Rigshospitalet public hospital in the capital, Copenhagen. After the operation, the monarch will remain hospitalized at the same center.
In principle, Margrethe will have to undergo a long period of rehabilitation, and the Danish Royal Household has already informed that some official engagements will be cancelled or postponed.
