At least eight people have been killed and 12 injured Monday after a van collided with an articulated truck at an intersection in Vietnam’s Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, southern Vietnam.
The collision between the van and the truck resulted in the immediate death of six people, leaving fourteen injured, who were taken to a medical center. Two of the injured later died in hospital, the Vietnam National Road Safety Committee said in a statement.
The van, which was carrying workers from several companies on their way to a medical examination, overturned after the collision with the truck, which was coming in the opposite direction and did not suffer much damage.
Nui Thanh district police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, the ‘Giao Thong’ newspaper reported.
