U.S. actress Raquel Welch died Wednesday at age 82 in Los Angeles of «a brief illness,» her representative, Stece Sauer, said in a statement.
Welch, standard bearer of the so-called ‘Golden Age of Hollywood’, rose to fame in the 60s by starring in films like ‘One Million Years B.C’, ‘Fantastic Voyague’, or a small role in ‘The Globetrotter’, starring Elvis Presley, according to CNN.
In 1975 she won the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy or musical for her role in ‘The Three Musketeers’, an adaptation of the play of the same name by French playwright Alexandre Dumas.
«Her career spanned more than 50 years starring and appearing in more than 30 films and 50 television series (…) She was involved in a successful line of wigs,» added Sauer in the aforementioned statement.
