The Military Police of Sao Paulo have announced the opening of an investigation into the murder of Felipe Ary de Souza, 25, a member of the Free Journalists collective.
De Souza was at a party at a friends’ house with his partner in downtown Sao Paulo early Wednesday morning when he got into an argument with two other guests and was attacked with knives. One of the two assailants fled the scene in a hurry, the Brazilian newspaper ‘Estadao’ reported.
The journalist was taken to Santa Casa de Misericórdia hospital, where he died. He was buried on Saturday morning in the cemetery of Vila Nova Cachoeirinha.
The Public Security Secretariat of Sao Paulo has confirmed the seizure of two bladed weapons at the crime scene. Witnesses point out that the argument started because of jealousy.
