
The South Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu is under a tsunami warning Sunday after a preliminary magnitude 7.0 earthquake was reported off its coast, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) has announced.
According to preliminary information from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was recorded about 23 kilometers northwest of Port Olry with a hypocenter at a depth of 27.7 kilometers.
No casualties or material damage have been reported so far.
