Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday discussed the «consolidation» of international partners’ support for Kiev and, in particular, «the expansion of the tank coalition» following Germany’s approval of the Leopard 2 shipment.
The Ukrainian leader highlighted on Twitter the «qualitative» improvement of the armies committed to Ukraine, while Stoltenberg stressed on the same social network that «the allies will continue their support as long as necessary», in line with previous messages.
Hours earlier, the head of the Atlantic Alliance had already applauded the new German commitment. «At a critical time with the Russian war, this can help Ukraine to defend itself, win and remain an independent nation,» the former Norwegian prime minister has valued.
On the other hand, Zelenski has also included among the topics discussed in the conversation «the necessary steps» for Ukraine to achieve «further integration with NATO».
