A cargo ship has been stranded in the Suez Canal, Egypt, in an incident that however has not generated traffic disruptions in this important waterway because the vessel has been refloated in a short period of time.
The ship, named MV Glory, ran aground near El Qantara, in the Egyptian state of Ismailia, while heading south, as detailed by the shipping company Leth. With the use of tugboats, the problem has been solved.
The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie, explained to the Al Arabiya channel that ship traffic was not affected.
In 2021, another cargo ship, the ‘Ever Given’, blocked the canal for six days after running aground during a storm, causing complications that spread to trade worldwide.
