The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has received on Friday former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerrillas Wilson Antonio Oquendo and Yeison Duván Oquendo who had been held hostage since Monday by the Gulf Clan.

The two ex-guerrillas were captured last Monday in the village of Las Cuatro in the municipality of Ituango, in the department of Antioquia, by paramilitaries of the also known as Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia (AGC), reports radio station W Radio.

The head of the ICRC sub-delegation in Medellín, Ignacio San Román, explained that in order to preserve the confidentiality of the process, they will not provide further details, but confirmed that «the people who were handed over to us were in good condition».

The mayor of Ituango, Mauricio Mira, explained that these two people and their families would be transferred to Medellín to guarantee their protection.
