The Kremlin on Monday condemned the assault on institutions in Brazil by supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro and confirmed its «absolute» support for the current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who took office on January 1.
The main spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dimitri Peskov, told the media that Moscow supports the measures taken by Lula to «restore order and the rule of law» in Brazil, according to the Interfax agency.
He also thanked the current Brazilian president for his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Moscow and Brasilia.
